I started painting covers in my own "Golden Age" style in the late 1990s. I had loved the early hero covers done by some of the great masters of the comic book medium like Lou Fine, the team of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, Charles Biro and Jack Cole (to name a few!). I wanted to see what I would have done had I been born to that period and found myself in those early sweat shops that founded and American industry. So I took some of the defunct and forgotten characters that I loved from that period and painted up some covers on heavy board. These covers are original in composition, and were exhibited in San Diego at the San Diego Comicon in the year of their creation.
